Woods Aitken construction attorneys Joel Heusinger and Abigail Frame recently shared their construction industry insights in Law Week Colorado’s special section, “Best Lawyers 2024.” The special section includes several features highlighting attorneys that are recognized in Best Lawyers 2024 for their work in the commercial and construction law practice areas.
In the “Best Lawyers: Construction Law” feature, Joel Heusinger shared, “We are seeing a lot of disputes arise around design-build projects where the scope and obligations between owners, contractors, designers, and subcontractors are not as clearly defined as one would hope,” adding, “There are a lot of proponents to using the design-build project delivery method, and it can be very attractive for owners to want to use; however, if care and attention to detail is not accounted for at the outset, it can often lead to some sticky legal issues.”
On Woods Aitken’s construction law practice, Heusinger shared, “We have a lot of young rising stars in our litigation and construction law group at the firm, many of whom are talented women,” adding, “I think that will be both a growing and necessary trend for both the legal profession, specifically construction law, as well as for the construction industry.”
In the “Best Lawyers’ Ones to Watch Express Gratitude” feature on being recognized, Abigail Frame shared, "It means a lot because the process involves getting feedback from our respected peers in the region and practice area.”
