Overview
- University of Nebraska College of Law, J.D. (with distinction)
- University of Nebraska-Lincoln, B.A.
Lena Lucas is a member of the firm’s business services, construction law, financial institutions, and real estate practice groups. She represents construction and business clients on entity formation and structuring, including the organization of limited liability companies, corporations, joint ventures, and other business entities. Lena negotiates and drafts construction contracts and related project documents, and she advises owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors on risk allocation and delivery structures throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Lena also counsels clients on startup best practices, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing, corporate governance, and succession planning, with an emphasis on practical risk management and value creation. Drawing on both transactional and construction law experience, she is able to align deal terms with project realities—helping clients structure and document transactions that support execution in the field, manage commercial risk, and reduce the likelihood of disputes. In her real estate practice, she advises on commercial leasing, acquisitions, dispositions, and financing.
Lena previously practiced with the firm in its Lincoln office and rejoined Woods Aitken in 2023 as a member of the Denver office. She brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to guiding clients through complex transactions.
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Lena earned her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska. She is active in the Denver community and has served as a volunteer and board member for nonprofit organizations supporting youth sports and education.
