Woods Aitken’s Labor & Employment attorneys host a highly engaging and practical interactive discussion about common workplace issues, developments in labor and employment laws, and human resource management topics. Participants are asked to collaborate and explore practical approaches to addressing complicated legal challenges. These monthly informal discussions will take place as a Zoom virtual meeting and participation is highly encouraged.  Discussions will be beneficial for business owners, in-house counsel, managers, and human resource professionals who deal with HR and personnel issues on a routine basis.  Programs will occur on the third Wednesday of every month.

Topic: DOL Releases New Salary Threshold for Exempt Employees 

On April 23, 2024, the U.S. Department of Labor published a final rule to increase the salary thresholds for “white-collar” exemptions (e.g., executive, administrative, professional) and highly compensated employees. The base salary level for “white-collar” exemptions and total annual compensation threshold for highly compensated employees will increase in three phases:
